Long before it became a Dunkin’ restaurant, the building served as a bakery that produced donuts for the nearby Dunkin’ operated by the Cafua family. The property represents an early chapter in the Cafua family’s entrepreneurial journey and their longstanding commitment to the New Hampshire business community.
The Cafua family’s success in the quick-service restaurant industry began in 1980, when Portuguese immigrants Fernando and Gilda Cafua purchased their first Dunkin’ location in Derry, New Hampshire. Their sons, Mark, David, and Gregory Cafua, expanded the family business into one of New England’s largest Dunkin’ franchise organizations, growing to more than 200 restaurants across six states. The Manchester Street property remains a meaningful part of that legacy.
